To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, all activities at the church are cancelled for at least the next two weeks.

Dear Members of the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren,

We hope that this letter finds you in good spirits knowing that God, our Father is always in our presence.

The Board met this evening via conference call to discuss how to best protect everyone from the coronavirus.  Out of deepest concern for the health of our congregants and in alignment with local and state recommendations, all activities, including worship services, are cancelled until further noticeAt minimum, it will be two weeks.  This situation will continue to be monitored and you will be updated as decisions are made.

In the meantime, services will be recorded in advance and made available on Facebook on Sunday mornings, and on the website.   Please check the website for further details regarding the times for the services on Facebook and instructions to access the service on the website.  If you do not have access to the internet, arrangements can be made to have a DVD delivered to your home.  If you would like to have a DVD delivered, please contact your Deacon.

If you have concerns, need food or someone to talk to, please contact your Deacon.

At Pastor Joel’s recommendation and in consultation with Larry Bricker, Chair of the Deacon Commission, it was also determined that even if we are back in the church on April 5th, the Love Feast will be postponed until a time when the concern of close contact with individuals is no longer a potential public health threat.

You may be wondering what you can do to serve the church during this time.  You can assist in the fulfillment of day-to-day financial obligations by continuing to give your tithes and offerings.  These contributions may be mailed to the church.  In the near future, the option of on-line giving will become available.  Watch for notifications and instructions on the website.

We pray that you and your family members remain safe from the coronavirus and that this outbreak is brought under control quickly.

In Christ’s Love,

Deb Austin
