Ongoing Service Opportunities

Serving Our Neighbors (S.O.N.)

Many thanks to everyone who has been supporting our S.O.N. collections. The recipients continue to express their gratitude for the help. In May we are still collecting boxed meals and canned meats to give away in June. We suggest non-frozen or refrigerated boxed meals, tuna or other canned meats, hearty stews, mac and cheese, hamburger or tuna helper, etc.

Food Pantry

We are regularly accepting boxed and canned food donations for the Chambersburg food pantry. Please drop off items in the labeled barrels in the Narthex and Brethren Life Center. The Food Pantry currently does not need any egg cartons.

The Helping Hands Circle

The Helping Hands Circle is a group of ladies that gets together monthly to work on projects for the community. Projects that they have done in the past include knitting hats for newborns, college student care packages, making cookies for the Carlisle truck stop ministry and the prison ministry, assemble gifts for shut-ins, make blankets for those in need during the winter, etc. For more information, please contact Carol Wingert in the church office.

Upcoming Service Opportunities

Help Us Serve - Chambersburg Project

“The Chambersburg Project Youth Missions Trip” is this July! It is a week long local mission trip right here in town. During the week, youth from area churches renovate and repair homes for residents of Franklin County who are unable to make the repairs themselves due to physical limitations or financial circumstances. The youth spend the week at a local school, sleeping overnight in supervised “dorms”, and are served full breakfast and dinner daily. Packed lunches and snacks are provided. The teens work during the day throughout Franklin County and in the evening, they join together for devotions, guest speakers, and praise and worship. We are asking for your help! This event is $200 per student and we would like to
make it more affordable for our teens to serve. Located in the Narthex and BLC are “The Giving Wall” boards. There are envelops ranging from $5 - $125 donations. If you are interested in donating, please put your donation into the correct envelop that corresponds with your contribution. After each service these donations will be collected. Each week for the next 4 weeks you will have the opportunity to help us raise the funds for us to serve here in Chambersburg! Thank you for your support!

Community Pool Party

Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the Chambersburg Aquatic Center, 1 Memorial Drive, Chambersburg. Join us for a night of swimming, fun and snacks! This event is free! In the next 3 weeks, we are asking for donations of individual-sized bags of snacks & bottles of water to give to our guests that evening.
