Upcoming Service Opportunities
CCOB Food Bank Challenge
Put together a bag with items for a Thanksgiving meal. We suggest 1 of each item below:
Canned Corn & Sweet Potatoes
Canned green beans or Peas
Boxed Mashed Potatoes
Canned Pumpkin or Applesauce
Transportation Needed – Sunday Mornings
A church member would like to attend the 10:45 P.E.R.K. service. She lives at The Towers on North Main Street. Please contact the church office if you would be willing to transport her.
Trunks for Trunk or Treat – November 6th
Volunteers are needed to decorate their car “trunks” and give out candy for “Trunk or Treat.” A sign-up sheet will be in the Narthex and the BLC lobby beginning on October 13th.
This is a great way for our kids to be in a safe environment and have fun Trick-or-Treating.
If you have any questions, please contact Sean Scott or Diane Berger.
Drive-thru Live Nativity – Saturday, December 14th
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO PORTRAY THE CAST — ANY AGE. Sign-up sheets are in the lobby. No one has to stand in the cold for a prolonged period, but you can take a double shift if you wish. Let’s make this a church family Christmas project to bless others with the good news of Immanuel (God with us)!
Ongoing Service Opportunities
Serving Our Neighbors (S.O.N.)
Our collection for September is breakfast items such as cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, pop tarts, and pancake mix (no refrigerated or frozen items). Your generous support of this program truly helps to Serve Our Neighbors in so many ways!
We are regularly accepting boxed and canned food donations for the Chambersburg food pantry. Please drop off items in the labeled barrels in the Narthex and Brethren Life Center. The Food Pantry currently does not need any egg cartons.
The Helping Hands Circle
The Helping Hands Circle is a group of ladies that gets together monthly to work on projects for the community. Projects that they have done in the past include knitting hats for newborns, college student care packages, making cookies for the Carlisle truck stop ministry and the prison ministry, assemble gifts for shut-ins, make blankets for those in need during the winter, etc. For more information, please contact Carol Wingert in the church office.
