Ongoing Service Opportunities

Serving Our Neighbors (S.O.N.)

We will be collecting paper products during the month of October.  We will be collecting items such as: tissues, toilet paper, wipes, paper towels, etc. Thanks for your support!

Food Pantry

We are regularly accepting boxed and canned food donations for the Chambersburg food pantry. Please drop off items in the labeled barrels in the Narthex and Brethren Life Center. The Food Pantry currently does not need any egg cartons.

The Helping Hands Circle

The Helping Hands Circle is a group of ladies that gets together monthly to work on projects for the community. Projects that they have done in the past include knitting hats for newborns, college student care packages, making cookies for the Carlisle truck stop ministry and the prison ministry, assemble gifts for shut-ins, make blankets for those in need during the winter, etc. For more information, please contact Carol Wingert in the church office.

Upcoming Service Opportunities

Habitat for Humanity fundraiser

Let's turn 100 little houses into a new home for our neighbors. Pickup your yellow "house" bank (in the Narthex and the BLC Lobby) to collect donations at home over the next month. Collecting change (and bills) over the next month will help us get to our $3000 goal in support of the Habitat build on S. Fourth Street. They are to be returned on October 28th.

Homemade Christmas Candy

Helping Hand Circle will be making Christmas Candy again this year and the order blanks are in your church mailbox, the Narthex and BLC Lobby. Please return orders by October 28th to the box provided in the BLC lobby and Narthex. Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity and Brethren Disaster Ministries.

Gleaning Project - Young Adults

The young adult group is pairing with the Gleaning Project on Saturday October 20th to make applesauce! The Gleaning Project goes out and gleans after farmers have already farmed the fields. They go into the fields and pick leftover produce and then distribute it to people in need. We will be taking apples and other produce and making applesauce and purees. We will be processing the food in the church kitchen. Please contact Ali Toms if you are interested in helping!
